F1-26. Privilege of Grand Duke Alexander of Lithuania to the town of Vilnius

Grand Duke Alexander of Lithuania confirms the privilege given by Grand Duke Kazimieras of Lithuania in Beršty in April 7, 1441 regarding the renewal of the Magdeburg rights to the town of Vilnius and additionally grants the inhabitants of Vilnius the exceptional right to trade in wine, hops, and to own wax weighting-house.

The attached seal is missing, except for the string of light cherry thread.
Latin; 1 f.; 42,3x50+11,4 cm; Text: 29,5x37 cm; 50 rows. The parchment is spotty, decayed and worn along the folds; the upper right corner is cut out.  Invocatio is written in capital letters. Initial is decorated and takes up 18 lines. There is a synchro postscript on the margins. 
The label of Vilnius Public Library is on the reverse of the parchment.
