F3-70. Donation of Jonas Jonaitis to the Church of Garadzišča


Garadzišča, 1494 10 29
Jonas together with his younger brothers Jonaičiai Kęsgailos (the Janowiczy) donate three annual tithes of grain from the estates of Garadzišča, Ruta and Kleck for the sustenance of the Church of the Annunciation, St. Jacob, St. John, St. Nicolaus and St. Prakseda, established by themselves; three "saikas" (measurement) of honey and two kapas of grosh for the sustenance of the vicar and servant; and an inn exempt from taxes, pasture with meadow and a plot of arable land and eleven peasants.
The attached seal is missing, except for the parchment strip used for the attachment of the seal.
Latin; 1 f.; 21x31,5+3,6 cm; Text: 16,5x26 cm; 29 rows. The parchment is water-damaged, spotty, with many small holes; the upper part is gnawed away. Ink faded.  Invocatio is written in enlarged letters. Initial is decorated, taking up 16 lines. 
The label of Vilnius Public Library is on the reverse of the parchment.
