F6-72. Privilege of Bishop Albertas Taboras of Vilnius to the Church of Pasvalys

Bishop Albertas Taboras of Vilnius confirms the diploma of Grand Duke Alexander of Lithuania of December 6, 1497 which establishes and provides maintenance to the Church of Pasvalys, establishes this church as a parish church, determines the boundaries of the parish and approves Jonas Grotas (Joannes Groth) its rector.

According to E. Rimša, the red wax seal of Bishop Albertas Taboras in the wax bowl, which was attached with a string of light cherry and light green thread but now broken up, belongs to this parchment. Diameter 37x35 mm.
Latin; 1 f.; 31x50+7,4 cm; Text: 27,5x42 cm; 40 rows. The parchment is crumpled up and spotty; ink smeared. The right side of the plica is cut off.  Invocatio is written in enlarged letters. Initial is a little decorated, taking up 9 lines. Below the text on the left there is a notarial sign. There is also a synchro postscript. 
The label and the seal of the Library of Lithuanian Academy of Sciences are on the reverse of the parchment.
