F6-2. Foundation of the Chapel in Vilnius Cathedral by Bishop Andrius of Vilnius

The diploma by Bishop Andrius (Andreas) of Vilnius, marking the foundation of the chapel of St. Andrew and St. Francis in Vilnius Cathedral and the donation of 100 marks of Prague grosh, tithes from the villages of Verkiai and Dainiškiai (or Biskupičiai) for the maintenance of its altarists; 10 hide of land, one horse feeder; three plots of land in Vilnius by St. Nicolas’ Church, as well as a plot of land to build a house in Vilnius Castle.
The attached seal is missing, except for the holes made for the attachment of the seal.
Latin; 1 f.; 37x55,2+6,5 cm; Text: 25x40 cm; 42 rows. The parchment is spotty; with some decay along the folds. The bottom of the parchment mouldered away and was glued with paper at the end of the 18th century.  Invocatio is written in enlarged letters and the first letters are decorated. 
The label and the seal of the Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences are on the reverse of the parchment.
