Because of the great quantity these documents and in order to make the process of restoration faster and easier, the government of Germany assigned finances for equipment and materials of restoration. A part of these finances was allocated for archival boxes and for wages of 4 restorers. The equipment was brought and mounted in the library by Mr. H. Peters, the head of Restoration department of state secret archive of Prussian heritage. This project is supervised by director of the Library of Lithuanian academy of sciences, Dr. J. Marcinkevičius and by director of State secret archive of Prussian heritage Dr.Kloosterhuis. The Project started in July of 2001. It has brought a prominent support to our library. There was acquired quite a big number of various equipment: vacuum tables, tables for restoration, leaf casting tool, the instrument for setting of paper acidity, cardboard and paper cutting machine, vacuum cleaners with micro filters, 4 presses and various materials for 130.200 DM (234 360 Lt).
